Stacy Newton Attorney
Stacy is an experienced trial attorney, having served as an assistant district attorney in Wake County for more than twelve years prior to joining Batten McLamb Smith. In the district attorney’s office, she was one of two leaders of the homicide unit, working and consulting on dozens of murder cases, including ones with complex medical issues. Stacy has tried more than thirty jury trials to verdict, including thirteen homicide cases, and one capital murder trial.
Stacy received her undergraduate degree in 2009 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She then graduated magna cum laude from Campbell Law School in 2012, finishing among the top students in her class. At Campbell, Stacy served on the Campbell Law Review, and also as a member of two moot court teams: the National Civil Rights Team, as well as the Prince Evidence Team. As a 3L, she was selected as a Civil Procedure Teaching Scholar. Stacy serves as a mentor each year in the Campbell Law Connections Mentoring Program.
